The Rev. Jesse Glick, Jr. passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at his home on April 29. He had served as sabbatical pastor at First Congregational Church of Portland, where he and his wife, Eloise are members, and at the UCC Church in Chester.
The Rev. Glick spent his life working and advocating for peace and justice issues often with non-profit organizations. He was the tri-state regional director of Church World Service, which brought him to Middletown, Connecticut. In his role at CWS, Jesse traveled throughout Connecticut, downstate New York, and Rhode Island raising awareness of and support for the CWS's hunger and disaster relief aid locally and around the world, in part by organizing hundreds of CROP Walks throughout the region.
He is survived by his wife Eloise (Buckwalter), his son Bradford and his wife Susanne, his daughter Shelly King and her husband Matthew, his granddaughter Allison, and his brother John Glick and his wife Dawn. Along with his parents, Jesse was predeceased by his granddaughter Acacia King.
