The gospel choir initially began as an afterschool-performing ensemble and then became a part of the BHS Choral curriculum in the fall of 2015. The choir consists of students in grades 9-12 who are passionate about singing and perfecting their musical talents. The choir’s mission is to inspire positive change by passionately singing music that has been inspired by the rich heritage of gospel music. The award winning gospel choir performs at various in-school, district and community events in the Greater Hartford community. Each spring the choir performs at the Bushnell Performing Arts Center in Hartford, CT for the Bloomfield School District Arts Festival. The choir has participated in the “ Music in the Parks” Festival since 2015 where they have received a superior rating and first place award for four consecutive years . In October of 2016, the choir was given the opportunity to perform at the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education Conference in Groton, CT.
