From New York to Paris
Saturday, November 9, 2019, 7:30 p.m.
The West End String Quartet (WESQ) has been entertaining audiences throughout New England with an exciting and varied repertoire of chamber music since their founding in 2005 by Sarah Washborn. Strong advocates of contemporary music, WESQ strives to bring new and uncommon repertoire to their concerts, pairing them with traditional works. They will present a spirited program of works by composers rooted in the American and French traditions from the 19th-21st centuries, showcasing an effervescent palette of timbral sonorities. Their program features soprano Lisabeth Miller for a dramatic performance of Virgil Thomson’s Stabat Mater. Other members are Marianne Vogel, violinist, John Biatowas, violist, and Anne Berry, cellist.
