The SHINE 4 JUSTICE Retreat is an annual event for youth in grades 8-12 who want to grow their leadership skills.  This year the weekend will include some racial justice training as well as your favorite camp activities-- low ropes, campfire with s'mores, and a night hike.  The retreat runs from 7:30 PM on Friday, October 11 to 11:30 AM on Sunday, October 13 at Silver Lake Conference Center.  Join us for a weekend at our beautiful outdoor ministry site in Sharon, CT.

We will help you identify your own leadership style and try on some spiritual practices.  We'll consider what it means to SHINE 4 JUSTICE and learn skills to help unmask and dismantle racism.

  • What is your SPARK?
  • How can you be a leader and bring LIGHT to the world?
  • Where are you being called to SHINE 4 Justice?
Gather for a time of dreaming and discernment!

The cost is $80 per person.  The SHINE retreat will be led by Debby Kirk and CTUCC staff members.  Adults are welcome to attend, but not required.  For retreat details or scholarship information, contact Debby Kirk at debbyk@ctucc.org or call 860-761-7103.

The SHINE retreat is part of our Thinking About Working For God (TAWFG) program.  SHINE participants will have preference in our paid apprenticeship program that is offered in the spring.  Click here to learn more about about TAWFG and other leadership opportunities.
