I was hoping to see some activity and/or discussion here on the UCC 100,000 for Peace initiative/petition . . .
Has anyone introduced their congregation to this effort? With what result? I'm presenting it at our Board meeting tonight and will be VERY interested to see how it is received. _________________ Peace be with You, and with Us All.

Westfield Congregational Church's Board has voted to mention the letter in its bulletin on 9/16, but not to have it read to the congregation or inserted in the bulletin.
Doe anyone know of a church in Northeast CT that has chosen to actively support this inititiative?

Forgive me, but I don't understand the question. Have you tried to respond to the poll, and it doesn't work? If so, what happens? Do you get an error message?
Or did you look at the results and not see any responses?
Or were you trying something else, and I haven't guessed it correctly?
Once I understand the problem better, I'll see if I can't figure out something to do about it.
Thanks!

Hi Eric,
You scarcely need forgiveness for my lack of clarity!
After our Board met, I tried to respond to the survey, (using Mac OS 10.4.10, Firefox 2.0.0.6), and got no response at all. It didn't acknowledge my trying to click on a choice - the radio button or the text. I tried clicking everything in sight since I haven't responded to a PHPbb poll before. (Pretty funny, considering that I host a phpbb forum myself!)

Eric,
Okay, so no sooner did I post a better explanation of my problem than I went back up to the top, tried to respond to the poll again, and it worked!!!
In the words of Emily Littela, (SNL - testing your age and viewing habits),
"Never Mind!"
Thanks,

Isn't that always the way?
It's what happens to me when I take my car to the mechanic, too. Although, since I bought a new car in June, I'm hoping I won't be having that experience for a while!

By the way, my brain woke up the morning, and I posted a News Brief on the Conference web site about this poll. Hopefully that will attract some more responses!

While we've been napping on this forum, the same topic has been on fire on the ucc.org forum under GS26 Issues. That discussion has gotten so heated and far afield that I've created a blog solely for the purpose of collaboratively creating a letter that is more pastoral and less political than many apparently find the 100k for Peace letter.
It is not intended to replace or displace the 100k for Peace initiative. It is intended to provide an intra-UCC opportunity for better understanding and finding common ground in a way that will provide all with an acceptable and meaningful message, particularly as we approach the International Day of Peace.
You can visit the UCC.org doings, or jump straight to the new place -

I'm deeply saddened by the apparent absence of any interest in this topic.
Is it because no one in CT participates in Forums of any kind?
Is it because people see the letter and the process that produced it as flawed, (a position I'm inclined to agree with, btw)?
Is it because no one can bear to discuss something that's likely to be controversial? (Something I've heard over and over again locally and nationally.)
SOMEBODY say something . . . . please. _________________ Peace be with You, and with Us All.

Hi All,
It is good about UCC that It is not intended to replace or displace the 100k for Peace initiative and It is intended to provide an intra-UCC opportunity for better understanding and finding common ground..............

It seems interesting, and generally they are friendly, noble and true, with a touch of innocence and very curious, but not beyond the bitterness and distrust, not easily forget its conflict _________________ WOW Gold,Buy WOW Gold,Cheap WOW Gold,WOW Gold For Sale |
