Do This To Remember Me! - A Book for Families on the Sacrament of Holy Communion |
Christian Education |
|
This booklet, written by Rosemary Turner, has been prepared as a resource for families on Communion. It may be used in preparing children for coming to the Lord?s Table at home or for family education programs at the church. One of the tasks of the church is to prepare children for a meaningful life-long participation in the sacraments. The church calls on the family to be involved in this process because it believes that the family is the most important avenue for Christian growth for children. The other titles in the series are "Communion With Your Children" for children and parents, and "Jesus Loves Me: The Young Child and Communion" for pastors and Christian Educators. |

Where Are the Children? Notes from an Open Discussion |
Christian Education |
|
On August 8, 2006, at First Congregational, Southington, CT, Thirty-nine Christian Educators and Youth Group Leaders, both Lay and Ordained, attended a round table discussion concerning the regularity and frequency in children and youth's church school and youth group attendance. Interested people came from both cities and villages and from all points in the state. Having its humble beginnings on the Christian Educator's discussion line (search at ctucc.org for ?FIDO? to learn more about this service), this informal meeting began to discuss the topic with fervor, and at the meeting's conclusion calls were made for future discussion and development of ideas. |
