UCC church seeks a Christian Education Coordinator beginning Fall of 2008.

Growing Fairfield County downtown church seeks a Christian Education Coordinator for 10-12 hours per week, September through June.

Candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree, Bible knowledge, and experience working in a parish setting with children and youth. We will expect the coordinator to share an inclusive, open and affirming theology and keep current through seminars provided by the Connecticut Conference or a recognized seminary.

Weekly schedule will include overseeing all church school programs, leading Youth Group and helping plan its activities; participating and helping to lead worship, giving children’s sermons at least once a month. Candidate will also work with the Christian Education Board to recruit church school teachers.

Candidate will be current with prevention of sexual misconduct training and will help to facilitate two upcoming trainings in the Fall of 2008.

Twelve pews from a chapel are available. Six are 7 feet 8 inches long, and six are 7 feet 2 inches long. They are made of solid oak with a honey oak finish, straight backs, and curved end caps. Most have book racks on the back side. Excellent condition; asking price is $100 for each pew.

Minister of Music/Organist/Choir Director, United Church of Christ in Devon

We are a small friendly, hospitable, accepting and growing United Church of Christ congregation located in the Devon section of Milford. We value the traditions of the past and are willing to creatively explore new ideas.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and positive individual to play our Pipe Organ (2 manuals, 8 ranks with Bass pedals) built by the Teller Organ Company of Erie PA in 1932 (updated in 1954) and direct our adult choir.

We are looking for someone to join with us in strengthening our music program (with hopes of developing a Children’s Choir) and enhancing the worship life of our church family. Other available instruments include a Grand piano in the Sanctuary as well as a Spinet piano in the Parish Hall. The Parish Hall has a stage with lighting and a sound system.

Approximately 6-8 hours weekly from September to June. Salary is negotiable with additional income from Weddings, Funerals. Our handicapped accessible church facility and instruments are available for teaching, performances and recitals. Continuing Education is encouraged.

The United Church of Christ Southbury, an 800+ member congregation, is seeking a Part Time Youth Leader (20-25 hrs/week) to lead active and growing Jr. and Sr. Pilgrim Fellowship youth groups. In addition to leading weekly PF meetings on Sunday evenings (JPF 2/mo, SPF 2/mo), the Youth Leader will coordinate and lead annual Mission Trips, retreats etc, for each group; SPF: Annual 7-9 day out of state trip with 35-45 youth and 10-15 adults. JPF: Smaller weekend trip to Heifer International etc. Responsibilities also include ministering to youth and their families in time of need, maintaining an active presence at church and community youth events, and attending monthly Youth Ministry Committee meetings. Successful candidate will exhibit a faith-based mission purpose and excel in connecting with youth across multiple age groups. Strong knowledge of Youth programing and related resources, and good organizational skills are also required.
