The OCWM Song
by Evelyn Eddy
Tune: "How Do I Know My Money's All Spent?" Pete Seeger
Intro: A - - -
D - A - / E - A - / D - A - / E - E7 A
CHORUS: How do we know how our monies are spent?
Our mission dollars have got up and went.
That's the way it should be, we're passing them on,
Doing God's work here at home and beyond!
A - E - / E - A - / D - A - /B7 - - E / E7
The money comes in from you, you, and you.
From investments and gifts, accounts both old and new.
But the ones we love best, our strength and our pride,
Come from churches and people, sending God's love world-wide.
In Turkey and Kosovo, we have been there.
Korea, Columbia - we have been there.
Before it's the news, we're already there.
To find our more - see the Calendar of Prayer.
Working for justice, in church, state, and town,
Teaching our folks, from age 99 down,
For scholarship funds, our thanks here are sent.
And for supporting the work of Joe, Judith, and Kent!
Time, talent, and treasure, we share with our friends.
Minority churches, Connecticut women,
New Samaritan Corp, the Conference on Mission,
NEAUCE, and Alban, and more coalitions.
Davida, Davida, let us now sing her praise -
For her faith and her vision, and her very long days!
For Peggy and all who, with never a curse,
Keep everything humming - so they get their own verse!
Now here's Silver Lake, where we all love to go.
Discovering God, in sun, rain, and snow.
But before we can go, to play, swim, or bike,
We must thank the good works of Dana, Shirley, and Mike.
This song's long enough, but we've hardly begun
To list all the things that we do with our funds.
Computers and phones, staples and pens,
And paper, and paper, and paper again!
Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3
