May Meeting Materials |
Around 700 delegates, visitors, staff and volunteers attended the the spring session of the Connecticut Conference Annual Meeting at the First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, of Wallingford on May 14th. The Rev. John H. Thomas, the UCC's General Minister and President, spoke powerfully and movingly on the history and continuing challenge of offering citizenship to strangers in the secular world and in the Church. The Conference previewed a revised capital campaign focused on furthering the ministry of Silver Lake Conference Center, and began preparations for hosting the 50th Anniversary General Synod, which will be held in Hartford in 2007. A wide range of workshops and displays to visit made opportunities for learning and for fellowship among the gathered members of the church.
