The Meeting Begins-Session One

Call to Order and Opening Worship
Mr. Erskine McIntosh, Moderator, will call the meeting to order. The Reverend Dwight Juliani, Conference Chaplain, will lead the Annual Meeting in prayer.

Welcome and Greetings
We will begin with greetings from our hosts, the churches of Fairfield West Association. We will then introduce the Connecticut Conference staff, honored guests, those who have been ordained or commissioned in the past year, those who have newly entered into ministry in Connecticut, and members of Connecticut congregations who are In Care.
There are some preliminary items of business that must be taken care of at the beginning of our meeting:
- We will adopt the Rules of Procedure for the Annual Meeting and the Agenda.
- The Moderator will remind us of the guidelines for the "Presentation of New Matters."
- The Annual Meeting committees will be appointed.
- The guidelines for "Speak Outs" will be presented.
- We will meet our Parliamentarian, the Reverend Malcolm Bertram, Jr., and other guests who will be granted voice without vote status.

Orientation for newly-registered Delegates
Since there is only one orientation session, new delegates are encouraged to attend this orientation to be held in the Auditorium. This is the essential quick orientation to the way the Connecticut Conference conducts its business. Especially if you have never been to an Annual Meeting, this is the place to be.

Call to Order, Morning Prayer, and Business
Our morning will begin with the Moderator's call to order and a time of morning prayer. Business items for our morning session will include a report from the Resolutions Committee on the 2002 resolutions and setting the priority order for the 2003 resolutions. We will have a report from the Local Church Ministry Team.

The Rev. Don Ketcham will present the Board of Directors Report. There will be an update on the capital campaign as well as Announcements and Final instructions for Workshops and Lunch events will take place. There will also be a report on the ministry of Silver Lake Conference Center.

Connecticut Women of the UCC Luncheon and Program/Workshop
A special luncheon and program/workshop is being sponsored by the Connecticut Women of the UCC. Buses will transport you to the New Canaan Church for this luncheon. Please note that those who attend this luncheon and program will not return in time to attend the workshops.
Box Lunch/Workshops
You will pick up your box lunch in cafeteria to take to the first Workshop. Consult the flyer included in this mailing for the list of workshops. You will sign up for workshops at the time you arrive at Annual Meeting.

Workshop Session II
There are two Sessions for workshops. You will take your lunch with you to Session I workshop and eat it in the classroom during the Workshop. If you are only attending a Session II workshop, you can take your time and visit the Exhibit Room and take your lunch to Session II, or eat your lunch in the cafeteria while waiting for Session II workshop.

More Business
Our afternoon business session will have two separate opportunities for "Speak Outs." Other significant items of business during this session will include reports from our two New England UCC seminaries (Andover Newton Theological School and Bangor Seminary), and the Report of the Treasurer and a presentation on the 2004 budget. There will be time for Awards to Tithing/Step Up Churches, and reports. The Annual Meeting will begin to consider and act on resolutions. Our Justice and Witness Team will give us a report, we will recognize our new Open and Affirming Churches, and our youth will be recognized.

Saturday Evening--Session Four

|
Dinner in the cafeteria. At the end of the dinner we will honor our clergy who have been ordained for 50 years and 25 years. We will present the Laity Award. We are honored that Tim and Anne Hughes, Co-Directors of Silver Lake will provide a time of music and celebration.

Session Five

Call to Order and Prayer and Yet More Business
The Nominating Committee will present its report and the Annual Meeting will elect officers and committees for the Conference. The General Synod Delegates will report their experiences from the recent General Synod.
The Annual Meeting will continue with action on resolutions, both Group A and Group B.
Order of the Day: The Annual Meeting will adopt an annual budget for 2004 based on the recommendation of the Board of Directors.
After a morning break, there will be another opportunity for "Speak Outs." Other business will include Announcements and an Amenities report. If there is any unresolved business, the Moderator will inform the delegates of the process by which they can extend the Meeting. If there is no remaining business, the final business session of our Annual Meeting will be concluded with a presentation from our Conference Minister and final remarks from our Moderator.

Festival Service of Worship and Installation of Officers
We will praise God, enjoy special music, install our new officers, hear a sermon from the Reverend Dwight Juliani, Conference Preacher, and share Holy Communion. Blessed by God through fellowship with one another, we will go forth from this service, strengthened for another year of service as the United Church of Christ in Connecticut.
Following the service, buses will transport people back to Saxe Middle School to pick up their cars.
