Annual Meeting Information: Second Letter
August 15, 2000
TO: Delegates, Clergy and Visitors
FROM: Peggy Wright, Assistant to the Conference Minister
A warm welcome is extended to you to attend the Annual Meeting of the Connecticut Conference to be held at Pomperaug High School in Southbury, CT.
The purpose of this mailing is to provide you with registration/reservation information in preparation for your attendance. A guide to the agenda will further inform you. Please review all the materials and select those appropriate to your needs. Please also review the workshops so that when you arrive at the Annual Meeting you can sign up for the one or two that interest you.
If you are a first time delegate, we urge you to attend one of the pre-Annual Meeting orientation meetings being held around the Conference to better acquaint you with the process followed at Annual Meeting and a chance to meet the Moderator and other delegates. See enclosed flyer as to dates and locations.
We urge you also to review the resolutions (enclosed in the first mailing) and discuss them with members of your congregation.
A wonderful youth program is being provided. Last year we had 150 youth participate in the youth activity. Please see flyer enclosed.
Following last years Annual Meeting, many attendees indicated that they would like the opportunity to attend more than just one workshop. We have arranged to have two workshop sessions this year; one before lunch and one after lunch. The detailed description of workshop topics and presenters will be included with the September mailing.
The Call to the Annual Meeting will be mailed to you in early September. It will contain the proposed budget, a motion to suspend the bylaws for recommendations of changes in the Design of the Conference, a proposal for a preliminary action for a capital campaign, a report regarding a Just Peace Conference.
Other attractions at the Annual Meeting will be displays and a bookstore and an outreach opportunity.
All of this information can also be found on our website at www.ctucc.org.
We look forward to your attendance as we worship and celebrate as a Connecticut Conference family!
