Day One Account!
Day Two Account!
Day Three Account!
The October, 2000 Annual Meeting of the Connecticut Conference was a rich event. Delegates heard the wisdom and struggles of Ricardo Esquivia and Bonnie Klassen, Mennonites working for peace in Colombia, voted a resolution supporting their efforts, and witnessed the signing of a partnership agreement between JUSTAPAZ, the Connecticut Conference, and the Central Atlantic Conference. They heard the voices of Conference leaders and members, including the Conference Minister, the three Regional Ministers, and those who spoke to various issues and concerns. They viewed the displays which informed them of the diverse ministries of the United Church of Christ, and they brought medicines and school supplies for Colombia. They commissioned 165 youth for service in the morning, and celebrated their day's labor in the evening.
What a weekend!
The Annual Meeting of the Conference is:
- A time to learn about our shared ministries here and abroad
- The time to decide the Conference's priorities for the coming year
- The time to select our elected leaders
- A time for sharing ideas we can use in our home churches
- A time to meet other Christians, some like us, and some different
- A time to renew old friendships
- A time for a great time!
