HARTFORD (10/31/2012) -- Interim Connecticut Conference Minister the Rev. Charles L. Wildman announced today the appointment of the Rev. Tamara Moreland as Interim Regional Minister for the Northwest Central Region, to begin on December 1. She will succeed the Rev. Ineke K. Mitchell, who leaves the staff to serve as interim senior minister of the United Congregational Church UCC of Tolland at the end of the year.
"Tamara Moreland rose to the top of a dozen qualified applicants," Wildman wrote in a message to authorized ministers of the Conference, "because of the vitality of her faith and the breadth and depth of her experience in both Church and secular positions." In addition to serving with the Liberty Christian Center UCC in Hartford, Rev. Moreland has worked or volunteered in several education, human services, and civic capacities in the Capital Region.
A graduate of Yale University Divinity School, Rev. Moreland was ordained in the Hartford Association in 2001. Her education includes an economics degree and graduate level work in organizational behavior.
She has a ten-year-old daughter and makes her home in Bloomfield.
With much satisfaction, said, Wildman, "we look forward to welcoming Rev. Moreland to the staff."
