Night and day have both come
Still stuck on an uncomfortable bus
Lack of sleep and tired eyes
Oh why didn’t we just fly?
Switching drivers at 3 a.m
Come on what is up with that?
Rain thunder lighting too
Finally we had made it to the school
Campus life was all right
Walking around and getting lost
Secret rooms and DJ’s that were tight
Life at N.Y.E has been great
Living green and living love
Living life and living with god (peace)
So many sermons that touched my heart
Palestinians and Israelites in a fight
Interfaith joining youth
Julia butterfly in a tree
Fighting for what she believed
Lets not forget our UCC leaders
Arrested in D.C
Fighting for our troops to be free
Worships were mad cool
Beach balls and the camera crew
Every conference had a chant
Who are we? CT
Who are we? CT
Who are we? CT
Who are we? CT of course
We needed something to quiet
Those Ohio and new Yorkers
Gospel music and new songs
Star field
Lost and found were the bomb
Rec. activities such as bowling and swimming pool
Billiards, ping pong, and the game room
On this path we call life
We know god accepts us no matter what
Lets send our thoughts and prayers
To all the ones who have suffered today
As we end our time here at N.Y.E
Remember all the lessons we learned
Fight for what you believed in
Regardless of what others think
God is our creator and
Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice
If there is anything
I have gotten from this
Black, Asian, Hispanic or white
Christian, catholic, Muslim or Jew
Including many others too
We are all gods’ children
No matter age, sex or race
More importantly, we are the youth of the UCC
We can do anything we put our minds too
One last thought…
We are not the youth of tomorrow
We are the youth of today
Today is that day
We make a change
Thank you Connecticut conference
For memories and experiences
I can never forget.
