This event will present a timely gathering of speakers:  Chris George, Executive Director of IRIS (Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services); Megan Miller from Church World Service; Aida Mansoor, President of the Muslim Coalition of Connecticut and others.  As the subjects of immigration and refugees are such vital, current topics, we wish to give everyone the chance to hear all the speakers. Therefore, there will be no breaking off into separate groups.  All the guests will address the audience in the Sanctuary, with small breaks in between, and a time for questions and answers.

There will also be a number of displays, especially by SERRV, CWS, Interfaith Sewing and Service Group (from Willimantic), Days for Girls and others.  The offering this year is to be split between A Sacred Place (an incorporated, non-profit place where programs for incarcerated women help to promote spiritual growth, emotional and physical wellness) and various programs/information about refugee resettlement offered by Church World Service.  Connecticut Women have pledged $5,000.00 to each mission before next year’s spring gathering. Make checks for the Offering out to:  “CTWUCC”, and write “2017 Missions” in the memo area of the check.  Donations to this year’s mission may also be mailed at any time to the Treasurer of CT Women:   Martha Lape, 20 Towpath Lane, Cheshire, CT  06410.  Please label as stated above.
A delicious lunch of soups (offerings of vegetarian AND a meat-based soup), numerous fix-your-own salad ingredients and dessert, will be followed by a very brief annual meeting and then the Recognized Women Awards.

REGISTRATION:    $20.00 before April 20th;  $30.00 after deadline
