"Becoming and Belonging" explores discipleship through covenant community and the six core themes of the United Church of Christ. Join us for a great experience with activities, worship and fellowship appropriate for youth in grades 7-9! These weekends are facilitated by trained teams of pastors and educators from throughout our state who work with youth in their own settings. The purpose of these retreats is to offer youth an experience of the faith community by exploring basic Christian characteristics, behaviors, and values of the church in a wider church setting.
The Connecticut Conference sponsors five Confirmation Retreats annually, hosted at the beautiful Silver Lake Conference Center in Sharon, CT. If your church's group could benefit from a retreat experience with others exploring and preparing for Confirmation, these retreats were intended for you. Each retreat includes church leaders and youth from across our state. For your safety, we require one adult advisor for each 8 (eight) youth of each gender. Advisors must be 21 years of age or older.
Our full weekend retreat begins on Friday night at 7:30 pm and ends before noon on Sunday. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided on Saturday, and brunch is served on Sunday. While specific retreat dates are announced annually, they are generally held in the following months: January, March, and November.
Beginning the 2013-14 season, a special single overnight option is being offered in early November! Churches who have not participated before may find this an affordable and convenient way to participate. This 24-hour option will begin at 7:30 PM on Friday and end at 7:00 PM on Saturday.
Pre-registration information is available here on our website or by contacting the Connecticut Conference at 860.233.5564 or 866.FOR.CUCC.
