The Clergy Concerns ministry of the Connecticut Conference provides various kinds of support to the authorized ministers of the Conference: pastoral ministry, professional development, therapeutic resources, care in retirement, and emergency financial aid.
The Connecticut Conference is pleased to offer the United Church Clergy Assistance Service (UCCAS) as a way to support pastoral wellbeing, to offer therapeutic resources in times of need, and to express the care and concern of the whole church for our clergy.
The Fund for Ministers provides supports clergy retired from service in Connecticut with pension supplements and taking some of the burden of health insurance costs. The Fund also provides small grants to clergy in their continuing education, and provides emergency aid when authorized ministers find themselves in financial distress. The Fund is the result of a number of generous gifts and bequests over many years. For more information, call or write the Clergy Concerns staff.
All of Connecticut's fifteen Associations require their authorized ministers to receive periodic training to prevent instances of sexual, financial or other professional misconduct. The Connecticut Conference offers these training events through the year. They will be listed at right, or call or write the Clergy Concerns staff for more information.
