Library Assistant – the John P. Webster Library at First Church, West Hartford, CT seeks a part-time Library Assistant. A lively, state-of-the-art gathering place of spiritual formation and fellowship, the Library offers programs consistent with the progressive faith of First Church, and is open to the public. Candidates should be tech-savvy, creative, and self-motivated, with a warm, welcoming presence, a sense of humor, and a commitment to intergenerational customer service and hospitality. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to multitask and manage changing priorities. In addition to circulation desk duties, the Library Assistant is also available for tech support and trouble-shooting for Library patrons. Bachelor’s Degree, two years’ library experience required, cataloging skills desired. Experience with Alexandria, Evergreen, Microsoft Office a plus. 22-25 weekday hours, Monday – Thursday; every other Sunday required. Additional evening and weekend hours may also be required for special programs. We offer a competitive salary based on education and experience.
