The gifts [God] gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until all of us come to the unity of faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ. Ephesians 4:11-13 (NRSV)
is the Connecticut chapter of the Association of United Church Educators, a diverse group of educators in the United Church of Christ who recognize that strengthening programs of Christian education and faith formation is essential to the vitality of our churches in the 21st century. To that end, CAUCE offers a meeting place for all interested people in the state of Connecticut to come together for support, training, networking and advocacy.
A highlight of CAUCE’s work is an annual seminar, including keynote speaker and workshops, addressing a current topic of interest to educators. This annual gathering is a great opportunity to share ideas and support with other Christian educators.
For more information, please contact any member of the Coordinating Council, listed on the CAUCE flyer.

Every three years the CT Association of United Church Educators (CAUCE) surveys leaders in faith formation from around our state and offers an updated set of compensation guidelines, affirmed by the Board of Directors of the CT Conference. These pages (text and tables) are useful to understand the scope of support and compensation when a church employs a lay practitioner. Guidelines are offered for all such roles within local churches from very part-time to full time leaders. Please note*- these are updated every 3-4 years.
